Phil was raised in the Berkshire hills, in the postcard village of Williamsburg, Mass., by his newspaper reporter mother and his woodworker father.
Over the years he's sold photos, articles, and short stories to national magazines such as Grit, Heartland USA, Reader's Digest, The Saturday Evening Post, and a number of boating and flying publications.
He lives in a cottage he restored by the Neuse River in New Bern, North Carolina, and works for NC State University doing water quality research.
He enjoys flying, riding a motorcycle over the most remote roads of eastern NC and the Great Smokies, walking the ocean beaches, and playing classic country fiddle.
Phil is a member of International Thriller Writers and Mystery Writers of America.
